The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) hosted two major conferences over the winter of 2011—both bringing together hundreds of specialists from a vast spectrum of disciplines to build connections and share knowledge related to preventing cancer and chronic disease. Ascribe first dispatched its event coverage team to Vancouver in February to capture the proceedings of a meeting on how to translate research into practice; then spent two days onsite in Ottawa in March for a joint CPAC–Public Health Agency of Canada conference on childhood obesity. In each case, Ascribe writers audited parallel sessions and breakout discussions and distilled the key messages into a 25-page summary report for distribution to all attendees and to the public via the CPAC website.
